Mick Moloney
An Irish singer, songwriter and performer, Mick lives now in Philadelphia, and is probably the
single most significant person in Irish music in America today, through his teaching, organising (he founded
Cherish the Ladies),
recording, performances and academic folklore activities (yes, that's Dr. Mick to you!).
He now runs a series of folklore tours of Ireland.
In his previous life in
Ireland in the sixties, he was a member of Emmet Folk Group (Emmet Spiceland), with
Donal Lunny and Brian Bolger, and
of the Johnsons, with Paul Brady. He now performs solo and in various groupings including
with Tommy Sands,
Eugene O'Donnell, Seamus Egan, Greenfields of America and others.
